In order for a person to become an ordained pastor of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM of SA), an NQF 7 theological qualification is required. Thereafter candidates have to subscribe to an internship, referred to as the Ministry Integrated Learning (MIL) program, under the guidance and mentoring of an ordained AFM pastor within a registered AFM assembly.
The MIL program consists of the following components:
- In the MIL program a candidate is given the opportunity to execute in practice what was learned during his/her theoretical and academic ministerial training, under the guidance of an appointed mentor.
- Progress reports regarding the exposure to and participation in practical ministry, are submitted on a quarterly basis to the office of the National MIL Coordinator.
- Four MIL workshops, pertaining to practical ministerial issues, each in every quarter of the year, are to be attended by the candidates.
- Assignments done on subscribed books are handed in and discussed at these workshops.
